Tummel Week - 2005

Tummel Week 24th - 29th July 2005

Tummel Week offers good racing (10 races over six days) mixed with time for family activities or impromptu dinghy park clinics. The week brought mainly light winds and the highlight long distance race along the loch was postponed twice and eventually run on a shortened course.

This year there were nine Europes in the 57 strong handicap fleet. Bess Homer from Dalgety Bay brought her Europe out of hibernation to demonstrate she has not lost any of her skill, winning the overall series convincingly with four first places and two second places to count. Second Europe and fourth overall was Lesley Foster, sailing a Europe for the first time in a borrowed boat. Lesley has since acquired her own Europe and is already chalking up wins in the home fleet at Loch Tummel SC. The next best placed sailor from the home club was Fiona Annan, third Europe and 10th overall.
