Inland Championships Rutland SC 1st-2nd November, 2003 Rutland hosted the latest round of the Holt RYA National
Ranking series over the weekend of National & Open Championships Warsash SC 19-20th July, 2003 Congratulations to Chris Gill who is our new National Champion! Chris Gill was 1st, James Eynon 2nd and Robert Laurie 3rd.

Last weekend saw the latest of the Holt RYA National
Ranking events. Lizzie Vickers led the
Round two of the 2003 Holt RYA National Ranking Series took place at Hayling Island Sailing Club over the weekend of the 10/11 May. Twelve Europes competed with Laura Baldwin sailing superbly to dominate the event. Laura finished the 6 race event with 5 wins and a 2nd (which she was able to discard). Andrea Brewster was 2nd overall and Kirsty Bonar 3rd. Full Results.
Fifteen Europes competed at Queen Mary over the weekend, in the first National Ranking event of 2003. Laura Baldwin took first place with 12pts, Andrea Brewster was second with 15pts and Chris Gill and Nicky Muller tied for 3rd place each with 16pts. Report and Results. |

Siren Sundby (Norway) is the new World Champion, with Sari Multala (Finland) 2nd and Mary Gaillard (USA) 3rd. Laura Baldwin finished with two good races to confirm her position as top Brit and to move her into 26th overall. Other British positions were

made the journey to Cadiz for the Europe Worlds for Men which took place
between the 2nd and 9th of September. Chris
finished in 48th place, with James

Worlds Open Week for Women 2nd - 9th September, 2003 Three of our Worlds team competed
in the Open Week in Cadiz. Laura Baldwin
continued her good form finishing in 17th
place, with Nicky Muller
34th and Lizzie Vickers
37th.
Many congratulations to Laura
Baldwin who sailed an excellent European Championships.
Andrea Brewster was
2nd Brit in 33rd, Nicky Muller
was 55th and Lizzie Vickers
108th.
Andrea Brewster sailed well to be the first Brit home, finishing in 27th place out of a field of 107. Laura Baldwin finished 34th, Kirsty Bonar 36th, Nicky Muller 53rd, Sarah Webb 104th and Natalie Lloyd 106th. Full Results.
After the first 3 days, Laura Baldwin and Kirsty Bonar were the leading Brits, lying in 17th and 19th places (out of 120 entries), however Kirsty had back problems and couldn't sail the last 3 races. The final British positions were Laura Baldwin 23rd, Andrea Brewster 27th, Kirsty Bonar 40th and Nicky Muller 54th. Full Results.
With 2 races on the final day, Kirsty
Bonar continued to sail consistently well to finish in 13th place.
The Silver fleet only sailed one more race, but Andrea,
Sarah, Nicky and Natalie all made
the most of it to improve their overall positions. The final results were

ISAF Worlds test
The event was won by Multala Sarit of Finland who counted 6 bullets out of the 11 race series. With only 1 discard, Laura Baldwin returned a number of top 20 finishes to finish 17th. The full results can be found at the Hellenic Yachting Federation Website. |
