| With
20 entires, the Europe fleet saw it's largest entry since Hayling
Island NR in 2001 where there were 24 boats. This is a positive move
that every one hopes will continue, the more boats, the more fun the
racing is.
The weather was mild for Rutland at this time of
year. It has been freezing in the past. Although it was not sunny
and infact was grey and drizzly, it sure beat icy cold fingures
and toes of past. The wind was good on Saturday with a range from
6-12 knots and fairly steady for inland water. Sunday was far lighter
and eventually died away completely but a good call from the race
officer to start on time ment we got two races in giving a series
of five races with one discard.
Special metions go to;
1) Laura Baldwin for
winning with a 9 point lead from 2nd place to take the Inland National
championship title 2004.
2) Ross Harrvey who
was the first non-lottery funded sailor winning the Holt goody bag
with his 5th place. Ross was also the first male competitor.
3) Hannah Blore, who
had a fantastic day on Sunday with a 1st and 2nd place, well done!.
4) Greg Pitt, who
was the top placed first timer racing the Europe. Greg finished
12th.
5) Weston Sailing Club
for having the biggest Europe fleet with four members racing this
weekend.
Laura Baldwin.
