The British team for the 2002 Europe Europeans consisted of 8 girls, and 1 boy.
It was to be a testing week!

The 3 days of the qualifying round were sailed in fresh winds and big seas. The tide proved to be a large influencing factor, with many boats making big gains and losses at the marks.
All boats in the British team had their moments of glory, and proved that they could match the speeds of the best in the world! With Debs, Bryony, Kirsty, Andrea, Kit and Lizzie all making the gold fleet in promising positions for good overall results.

In the last 2 days of gold fleet racing 4 races were sailed. Interesting race management meant that several 1st beats weren't offset for the tide, making the starts and subsequent first beats less than tactical to say the least!

However at the end of the week, results proved to be very close, with very few points separating the top 30 boats.

A testing week and many lessons learnt!!
