Bough Beech 14th
October 2006 Maybe people don’t know about Bough Beech, a 250 acre reservoir in the hills between East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells, handy to the M25, or maybe we put too many events on the programme at this time of year. Whatever the reason, the race management team outnumbered the Europe fleet, on a day with sunshine and a good easterly breeze with not too many shifts. Those who made it had a good day’s sailing, especially Richard Eagleton, with three firsts and a second. Ian Foxwell sailed a borrowed boat to three seconds and a first – he’ll be a force to be reckoned with when he gets his own boat, provided he can find somewhere to put it, along with the 29er, Int. Canoe, etc. Hannah Packman was at her first ever Europe event, and was delighted to finish a Europe race for the first time. In fact she finished all four, so it was a great day for her. Jane Stevens got well stuck in at the starts and kept close to Richard and Ian for part of the time. We have introduced a TT Rookie prize this
year, and Jane
having attended six events in the season, was a worthy winner of this
prize.
